Any and all helps is welcomed…Until then, I’ll continue with backing up my plex content so that I can completely reinstall.
Eureka…
Found a site (https://www.filehorse.com/download-plex-media-server/old-versions/) with previous Plex versions and then I was able to view my previous logs to find the plex version (PlexMediaServer-1.16.5.1554-1e5ff713d-x86) used before this update. Uninstalled current plex, reinstalled past plex, and all is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooookay now
Installed the Public release of 1.18.0.1913 After install cannot access server from streaming devices or webapp. In web app I just get ! marks next to my libraries and received message that says error loading content. Rolled back to previous PMS works fine. I also had same issue with last beta before the public release. I am running on windows 7 with all current updates and services packs.
I had issues after updating to 1913 as well. Roku would stream for maybe a minute then just freeze indefinitely. Same issues on web browser when viewing remotely.
Checked for updates, none available according to the console. Yet, if you go to the site directly, there is in fact a new version released today (1.18.0.1944). I manually downloaded and updated to that version and my issues appeared to have gone away. I had updated to 1913 yesterday so for them to have released a new version this quickly, I think they quickly found and fixed a big bug in the software.
here is my logs, may be have some insight into the matter.
and here is the total spec of the plex serverPLEX-PC.txt (116.1 KB)

restored to an older version and all working again, so that says it all, Duff update
Out with the new…
In with the old.
My plan is to keep this old working version so that I’m safe to update anytime I want. With the comfort of undoing it all!
Do admins check these threads? Would love ot know someone will fix this.
Have you updated to the latest version?
actually the staff does a great job of keeping on top of things and helping members.
just updated and now mine is unavailable is there any solution to resolve this exept got back to earlier version
It’s been a week, I suppose I could maybe think about updating, but last time Plex update b0rk3d I had to rebuild everything from scratch, so maybe not?
And someone else lost connectivity just 2h ago, so no, never mind.
yeah i would skip this update im in process of installing earlier version… pissed right of now as its just caused loads of hastle
It’s worth considering that your systems are unique.
Proof is how a fix works for someone and not others.
If you’re not the OP, I suggest you make your own topic.
At the end of the following guide is an example of a good one.
Well they broke remote access again with the 1.18.0.1913 update. It’s been working fine until this POS version. If or when I find a version that works I’m sticking with it and to hell with their updates!
I’m having crashes as well. I don’t know the cause, but every time a guest of mine logs in from their systems, it crashed my server and is tied to ntdll.dll. I can use their account locally and it works fine. I can include my logs if it helps.
last time i use remote access i was still on 1.18.0.1913 so it does work.
I am also not able to connect from the web app or any other client after updating. Showing my plex server is unreachable and isn’t seeing any of my media. This is the 3rd 1.18.* version coming from 1.17.0.1709 that has messed up everything. Rolling back to 1.17.0.1709 I guess. Been running Plex for over 5 years and have never had an issue updating. This combined with them ditching the plugins and I’ve about had it.
