What happened to "Enable Delete Content"?

To my horror I just watch me son Delete a move off the Server from PMP, he just hit the … and “delete” and boom it was gone…

1.) I thought that was impossible, with out enabling it in the PMS -> Settings -> Server -> Library, as defined here.

But that appears to be missing now? where did it go? how do I prevent deletions?

are you showing advanced on that settings page?

The new Plex update changed that setting unceremoniously to enable delete even if you had it turned off before the update…

MAN! That scared the bejeebers out of me… My mouth was hanging open because I KNOW that i had that “Not” enabled.

I felt like that that clip of the hindenberg… “Ohhhhh the humanity!!!”

i just downgrade my server disabled it then upgraded and it was still disabled. curious what happened. do either of you recall which version number you were running previously?

oh looks like it was intentional. (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1443195/#Comment_1443195) should only have changed if you never specifically altered the setting. but if you set it once it should not have changed

I originally set it not allow deleting… I did it specifically because my 15 YO w/Autism would delete the entire library if it was enabled. So at some point they changed the setting. That is why I was so shocked.

After I posted last night, I checked my trash folder, and there were 30 movies in there. Thankfully, it was easy to recover them.
