Plex is pulling in overwhelmingly wrong metadata for the ninth and tenth seasons of MST3K. Even when I manually set the episode order for the show to use TheTVDB aired order (or DVD order), the metadata doesn’t change to match.
What seems to have happened is that it shows the first episode for each of these two seasons correctly, but then the remaining episodes are pulled from the previous season. So S09E01 is right, but S09E02 thru S09E13 are titles from Season 08. And S10E01 is right, but S10E02 thru S10E13 are titles from Season 09.
So far, here’s what I’ve done:
- I hit “Refresh Metadata” on the show with the default episode ordering.
- I manually set episode ordering on the show to TheTVDB (Aired).
- I hit “Refresh Metadata” on the show again after #2.
- I toggled the episode ordering to TheTVDB (DVD) and then back to TheTVDB (Aired).
- I did the official version of the Plex Dance (move folder, scan library, empty trash, clear bundles, move folder back).
- I once again manually set episode ordering on the show to TheTVDB (Aired).
- I once again toggled the episode ordering to TheTVDB (DVD) and then back to TheTVDB (Aired).
I checked the metadata after each of these steps, but in every case, nothing was fixed. (The most that happened is that the season covers changed when toggling between DVD and Aired order.)
I’m also very careful about my file naming, but I double-checked, and it’s all correct, in the format: ~\TV\Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1989) {tvdb-74806}\Season XX\Mystery Science Theater 3000.SXXEXX - EpisodeName.mkv.
