What is going on with this "merged" plex player?

I cant seem to find the older apps that were separate versions of home theater and the version seen in consoles. Im currently using this “merged” version that contains both and is horribly buggy on the system im using it on. Anyone know where i can get the older version?

Not a fan of this new direction at all.

I am not for sure if you mean Plex Media Player and Plex Home Theater. Here are the links.

Am i overlooking something? There are no download links to the older builds.

My apologies, i do not believe they keep older versions since some of the updates contain security and bug fixes. Your best bet is maybe trying google to find some old archived versions.

Plex no longer make PHT available. If you like that interface, we suggest using OpenPHT, which is a community driven continuation of PHT. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/245798/release-openpht-1-7-1

I was interested in the other old version thats in most game consoles, but i appreciate this as well.

I’m not sure what you mean. The game consoles have only had 1 style and it should be the same as pmp.

I was thinking the same thing lol

exactly, i want to get a build of that before it was merged with this two method app they have now. i want just pmp without the extra control panel content. It seems like a merge of the html panel and pmp, but its oddly buggy on my system. if i full screen it, it cuts off showing what ever app is behind it on both the top and bottom.

If you’v been using the updates from within the app, you should have copies of prior versions on your computer. In windows it would be in:

C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\PlexMediaPlayer\cache\updates

Although, it would better if you reported the bugginess so we could look into it. I’m not clear on your last statement. If you full screen the app, it should cover everything.

I noted with the last update with PMP (Plex Pass), if i am in full screen mode and i turn off my TV, when i turn it on, PMP is no longer in fullscreen mode and does similar to what the above poster had said. It shows like 3/4 of the screen as plex. I have to actually goto in plex settings disable fullscreen then renable to fix this.
