What is Metadata Source for "Originally Available" Plex Tag?

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621-871adbd44
Player Version#: 1.82.2.4024-64f483f6

I have a number of MP4 home videos, many of which are showing up with the wrong year in “Originally Created” within Plex. I’ve confirmed the “Date” metadata field in the file (not Plex) is correct, but in comparing ones Plex is reading correctly with ones Plex seems not to be reading correctly, I haven’t been able to figure out which tag it reads the OC field from. I’ve checked Date Modified, Date Created as well, but there’s no consistency.

For example, sometimes the video file has the following metadata (where the correct timeframe should be 2020):

Date - 2020
Date Modified - 2023
Date Created - 2023

…and Plex will identify “Originally Created” as 2020, seeming to read off Date.

But other times, with those same metadata on a different file, it will read the “Originally Created” date as 2023.

Any ideas what might be going on, or whether there’s another metadata tag I need to be looking at?

Thanks,
Matt

The date format in that field matters.

Thanks. I found a tool called Attribute Changer that’s doing the job. Changing Date Modified and Date Created seems to be what Plex needed.
