What purpose (or: does anybody find useful) the “Home” screen that the Plex players default to? It confuses the heck out of grandparents who click on the random suggestions it puts on that screen rather than clicking to the library of the grandkids whose pictures/videos they want to watch.
“Why did you remove that cute video of the baby?!”
“I didn’t. It’s there, I just checked.”
“It’s not on the screen anymore! I scrolled through all of it!”
(realized they’re on the “Home” screen and not in a library)
The Home screen is a quick summary of things available on the servers they have access to. The content depends on what you have pinned to the sidebar and the order they are listed. If they do not see photos, maybe that library got unpinned. That could also be why they are not in the library, they wouldn’t see it. You/They will need to go to “more” at the bottom of the list, find the photo library and pin it to the sidebar again.
It’s a nicely customizable screen that can give a quick overview of your library contents based on the libraries you pin to the side. For me, I turn off all widgets for all my libraries on the home page except for “recently added”. This allows me to quickly find items I “recently added” (duh) to my library, rather than have to hunt into the ever-growing list of items. I do not much like random-seeming curated lists, such as what you seem to be asking about.
Perhaps talk them through enabling “Remember selected tab”?

I agree because I never use the Home screen and always switch to TV. Please let us remove Home or hide it.
