What is working DSM7 plex upgrade procedure to newer plex package (1.24 to 1.25)

Server Version#: DSM 7.0-41890 on DS218+
Player Version#: 1.24.1.4931

Hi, i installed plex after moving to DSM7, works fine.

I would like to upgrade to latest package 1.25.0.5282 (ARM v7 for x18 series version)

I have searched but cannot find the correct upgrade procedure, with all the installation issues I did not want to just assume that I should click “Manual Install” in package centre.

Could someone please advise?

Short: Download the package that is compatible with your cpu and manually install.

If you have an existing DSM 7 installation running

NORMAL “Manual Install” (which is an “upgrade”)

There is nothing for you to do. It’s a normal Synology package update/upgrade.

Thanks both. Grabbed latest and did manual install and it worked fine.

Will it ever be the case that DSM7 identifies a package update is available for Plex? Or will it always need to be user decision from now on?

Synology controls Package Center.

There is always a delay from when we release a package until they publish it.

Sometimes it’s weeks, other times it’s months.

We are looking at alternatives but nothing solid yet.
