What's the best practice for updating Plex in Synology DSM7?

My reinstallation of Plex on DSM7 worked like a charm (thanks to Chuck and others).

What is the best way to upgrade the PMS going forward?

I’m assuming downloading the update manually, and then using Manual Install in the Package Center in Synology… but I haven’t done this in DSM7 before, and just want to make sure that’s the best way to proceed in DSM7.

This is about to become public and the standard.

Please ignore Synology Package Center until they update at least to 1.24.2

if you’re coming from DSM 6,

  1. Uninstall the DSM 6 app first - avoid Package Center making a mess
  2. Install my SPK
  3. Follow the instructions carefully
  4. Review this Migration Instructions as needed.
