First skipping credits. (It takes two buttons on keyboard, X to stop current video and ENTER to start next.) . Now, There is no director name in Plex htpc on movie info. Why?

afaik Directors are going to be added the first position to the cast row.
Which is wrong in many ways.
why? afaik the title will be changed to something like Cast & Crew.
Well, that’s good news. I was going to make feature request on that. It will be fine to know editors, DP and music authors also. Thanx.
It doesn’t force you to stop watching the credits. You still can if you want to.
But in the real world most people stop paying attention the moment the credits start appearing. Move on, or look for ways to start loading up the next episode / show / movie. Even if there’s mid/post credit scenes people just go to their phones or start skipping forward until they get to it. This is a nice feature for thoes people, to improve & simplify their experience. They wouldn’t be paying attention anyway so nothing lost.
People don’t want this change. You’re condensing and hiding useful info all in the name of making room for that giant social network button that shows who watches the item. Even when you turn that feature off you’re left with a big blank space. Because the entire item detail screen is being designed around a social network no one uses. Terrible UI design.
Leave director and writer fields where they are as text fields and make the text selectable like the item summary.
Also don’t know why this info is buried in this thread while numerous questions were asked about this change when it was originally made in the betas of the players. Communication yet again is non-existent.
Edit: I just want to thank the Plex employee who reached out to me about this as the rest of Plex employees hide away from the criticism this move has gotten, as we’ve seen in this thread and on Reddit. Some of their staff care about home users, even if it seems like most don’t.

Chiming in only to say, please don’t speak for everyone when you say “no one uses” something. I use this feature. If you don’t like it and you don’t use it, fine. But you not using it isn’t the same as no one using it.

TBH, for Plex HTPC, I’d love to see the detail info screen as a GUI for content. Gives me a full synopsis, director info etc and file info. Scroll through media using that interface. Add actor info to that detail screen and everything is covered.
The current system really doesn’t offer much when scrolling through media and usually requires a deep dive into the detail screens. The wife particularly finds this annoying.
Kodi GUI gets this right with configurable options and details. Kodi does indeed provide a better 10 foot interface (although we prefer Plex for its simplicity in other areas).
Came here to chime in as well that I do not like the Director and Writer credits being removed from the Movie view on interfaces such as the Apple TV Plex client. I may sometimes look at the writer credit when pulling up a movie, but I always look at the Director credit. My hope is that this information is not shoved down some the “3 dots” menu. Or, give the user the option to further customize the view.
