It’s great you keep tweaking the Android TV interface, but why on earth did you feel it was a good idea to bury the Director, Writer, Studio + information for movies?
I had hoped you would make it possible to filter movies by Director from within the preplay screen, but instead, Plex completely removed this info and buried it in some modal.
Plex UX designers may say its is all about a more slimline cut down UI experience, which I get. We don’t want a cluttered UX but director, writer and studio are such useful pieces of information. More change for changes sake
Also, android mobile has this information, its just been removed from android tv. I ended up opening up the mobile app last night just to see who the director was on a movie.
Yeah this must be the dumbest decision ever. Totally unmotivated and straight up hostile towards, you know, anyone who cares about cinema.
By the way I’m on Apple TV and it’s just the same, now I need to click on “More” and then “More Info” to see who the freaking director of a movie is. I’m fuming.
Can we have at least a reply from the developers? I really hope this is only some weird glitch and that the next update will bring the film credits back.
Is there any way to roll back to a previous version where this feature was available? There’s nothing that’s been added since then that’s of any use, and I’d like to have this information back.
I used Plex way back in 2009/10 when it was just a metadata scraper, before it was even a media server, and even that 1st iteration had Director, Writer, Studio, Audio Codec, etc. This new race to the bottom is painful to watch. Like a wedding cake falling in slow motion.
