What to enter in location for address on terramaster nas

Do not use 192.168.0.0. Use the IP address of the device.

What is the IP address of the WD and of the Terramaster?

192.168.x.x addresses are private. It is OK to mention them in the forum. The IP address of my Plex servers are 192.168.1.50 & 192.168.1.55.

Synology refers to this as “Mount remote folder.”

NFS: Remote_Server:/Remote_Folder_Path , such as 192.168.0.2:/volume1/share

SMB: \\Remote_Server_IP\Remote_Folder, such as \\chad\cheeseburger\pictures or \\192.168.0.2\share

Here’s the Synology documentation. CIFS is another name for SMB.

See Steps to Configure NFS Service on My Cloud

That should show you how to configure NFS sharing on the WD NAS.

Pay attention to Step 6, where you enter the IP addresses of devices that can access the WD using NFS. You will need to enter the IP address of the Terramaster, or use * to permit access from any device on the network.

oh ok thought i had to hide them

my terra master is http://192.168.0.233/

wd cloud 192.168.0.118

wd cloud Mount Point: nfs://192.168.0.118/nfs/4k films

so what is the mount point for SMb
and mount point for nfs

also it says on the wd my share profile is
Volume_1
so how do these translate

You get to pick the mount point on the Terramaster.

If for example, on the Terramaster you have a folder named /media. You could make a subfolder, /wd. Then mount the shared folder from the WD to /media/wd. On the Terramaster, the path to the files would look like /media/wd/something, where something is the path on the WD - /media/wd/movies, /media/wd/tv, etc.

I do not know. I’ve never worked with a WD NAS. It could mean you are sharing all of Volume 1 or it could mean something else.

You have the shared folders from the WD mounted on your PC, correct?

Use that as a guide. It would look the same, or very similar, when you mount the WD on the Terramaster.

yes have the folders mounts on PC
\MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA\4k films
or \MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA\tv11

so with the plex on my PC currently I just enter \MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA\tv11 in the add folder then broswe for media and just enter in the top and that’s it

the same for terramaster I just enter like \TNAS\test that’s it it can find the folders and browse them the same with emby on the terramaster I just add folder click select path then network and its all there shared folders on the terramaster and wd cloud wish plex would make it this easy

I know a few years back we could browse cloud services and nas devices but for some reason plex has removed this

ok bit of a update not to sure what is happening but I have now noticed that even files on the terramaster don’t seem to be able to connect to the internet

what makes me think this is I added files from one folder 4k films that is whats on the terramaster so quite easy browse find and point to the folder

now the files are being added but they are all coming up as unmatched and when trying to match it cant find anything

any ideas what is going on and could this be why its not finding anything on the wd cloud ??

Double check the Terramaster network config: default gateway, DNS, etc.

Make sure the time is set correctly.

Please show how the movies are named and organized.

Edit: Check file permissions as well. Make sure Plex has at least read only access to the files.
