When someone is playing remotely my local player can't play any decent quality anymore

Hi,

Whenever I have 1 or more remote players active, I can’t play any decent quality on my local network. the server is not maxed out as seen below in the screenshot.

Even with multiple streams running 1080p remote, I have to watch SD locally, only when no remote streams are active, I can go up to 4k without any issues, but when 1 person starts, BOOM I get pushed down to SD.

I have a Unifil system, everything is running on 1GBps, with a 400MBs down and 40 MBps up internet connection, so the outbound should be more an issue then the local network (which isn’t saturated at all), The GPU is running at 0% when doing a single stream encoding. so that isn’t also the issue.

I have no idea what might be causing this, everything is up to date.
Anyone having the same issues?

I used to be able to cast from my phone and then it would occasionally work, but now I can’t change the stream quality anymore (Thanks PLEX :@ !) so that method is gone.

That shows even your local ip is remote, so the signal is going out through your internet and back in. My guess is your upload is hitting is limit because of this. You’ll need to figure out why its remote.

Aha that was a good spot. My server is running on a different VLAN.
I switched my TV to that VLAN and now it’s recognised as a local connection.
