A funny thing happened while watching an MCU movie the other night… First off, I just want to say that I have been successfully using Plex for over a year. I have the WD PR4100, and with the exception of a few glitches here and there, things have gone well. That all ended a few days ago. We had some internet shortage and my Plex players have lost contact with the PMS on my cloud. I have tried to delete, reboot, reactivate, repeat, over and over again, using many of the suggestions that I have seen on this forum, all to no avail. My computers can see the media content through DLNA, but every try to access the PMS through my computers (windows or Mac), it gives me the ‘rejection error’. When on the Plex or MyCloud web, I cannot access the PMS to sign in, and when I try to do it within the server, it gives me the ‘connection rejection error’. I have used every version of the software since I started using Plex, and nothing seems to work. I have activated, deactivated, IPv6; turned on and off the uPnP, altered the router every way imaginable (Nighthawk P7000), and have personally gone through all the stages of grief. I have turned off the firewalls, Windows Defender, and still no luck. Please note that my plex apps cannot see the PMS remotely, so I am not even at the stage where I can configure the program via the Plex app. It is like it has completely vanished.
I have dabbled in port forwarding, but I am not confident that I am doing it well or correctly. When I look at my PR4100, it looks like it is using the 80 and 443 internal ports, and the external ports are 9091 and 9444, respectively. Not sure what to do there, because I sort of thought at least one of those should have been 32400. When I test the 32400 port, the message comes back that its ‘closed’. Any help, suggestions, would be awesome. I am not a computer expert, so if you are willing to help, please explain things to me in a language that isn’t full on computer-eze. There is a lot of experience on this forum, and I am hopeful that I am just doing something very stupid. Again, it has worked well in the past, which is why this is so frustrating.
Any headway with this? Seems I am having a similar issue. Nothing works.
