I’m watching live TV on PMP using a newly built PC with Intel 8700K, 32G memory and two Hauppauge tuner devices (four tuners total). All fresh drivers, confirmed the latest. Updated the video driver as well.
While watching, it momentarily hangs both video and audio for a split second. It happens every 1 - 5 minutes. I can’t find a pattern.
When watching in WinTV, it’s flawless.
When recording in Plex, it does the exact same thing. I can play back a recording and rewind for testing, and it does the same glitch in exactly the same place every time.
Is there a setting I’ve not gotten right?
This is incredibly annoying.
This is still an issue, and no one is responding. Doesn’t anyone have any ideas? Is this just “the way it is”, making me regret my lifetime purchase?
I’ve increased my tuners to 8. I run Windows 10 Pro. 32G memory. 8700K processor. Everything works great EXCEPT Plex.
I can use WinTV and it’s so buttery smooth, it’s awesome. If I use Plex, it tends to glitch every 1 or 2 minutes for both audio as well as video. It doesn’t matter the channel.
I’ve turned off transcoding. I’ve stopped cutting commercials. It happens live or recorded. When playing the recordings, it happens at the exact same moment each time, meaning that the glitches themselves are recorded.
During playback, it drops frames every time it glitches, which means the audio gets out of sync with the video the more you play. I can stop the playback, close the file, reopen the file and start play to get the two back in sync. This sync issue might be a separate issue, as I’ve seen other postings about it, but not about the glitching / hanging issue.
One more issue that I’m having is intermittent recording. It was much more common in the recent past. The recordings just wouldn’t start. It seemed random. I would cancel the recording and re-setup the recording, whereupon it would work great… sometimes ending the issue, other times just to have it repeat on that recording the next showing. Mostly it’s behaving now, but it seems like a bug someone needs to address, and I’d sure like to know that I don’t have to babysit the system by being on top of it each hour I intend to record or else I might miss the episode I’m after. I set this system up to keep me from having to “mind the store”, but it seems I still need to.
Help!
