The current synopsis for episodes of Daredevil Born Again do not match up with any official source, and they’re extremely spoilery…
E1. Official: Matt Murdock gives up the mask. Wilson Fisk has his sights set to new heights.
E1. Plex: Longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) try to leave behind their darker alter-egos to serve the people of New York, only to have their pasts catch up to them. In this first episode, we are reintroduced to the world of Daredevil.
E2. Official: Matt Murdock gets a new client who’s more than he claims to be. Fisk learns the power of optics.
E2 Plex: Matt takes on the case of a vigilante who is accused of killing a policeman while in his civilian identity. Fisk settles into his new position as mayor and discovers that his old skills and habits as the Kingpin serve him well. Meanwhile, he and Vanessa go into therapy.
E3: Official: The trial of Hector Ayala begins. Fisk’s old business associates seek to claim his vacant mantle.
E3 Plex: In the Hector Ayala trial, Matt loses his key witness and is forced to out Hector’s vigilante ID in open court to avoid a conviction. Wilson and Vanessa disagree on whether they should get involved when an incident between rival criminal gangs occurs.
The newest episode (episode 4) has a summary that matches typical sources (TVDB, IMDB and TMDB) but I also can’t find where those other ones are coming from either…
Might be coming from Plex’s new licensed data provider? Posters, background art and cast photos come from there now so maybe they’re getting summaries from there too? That new source has often been less than ideal compared to the usual sources.
Do yourself a favour and just give up and accept it as it is. The plex meta agents (TV and Movie) are a mess and nothing the community members who tried to make things better work anymore.
It’s extremely sad but it is what it is. The only hope will be nfo metadata support.
See, plex thinks more is better so as there are MORE words/characters in this summary their agent ranks it higher. Some of the movie summaries are clearly written by AI but having being posted on IMDB they get ranked by plex, so there it is. A MESS!
Same problem is happening with titles for many series which others have outlined in many threads. Anyhow, my advice, move on and accept it. They won’t be changing anytime soon as they don’t see it as a problem …
Well that’s just an inherently bad decision. I’m not surprised though.
Also explains why Episode 4 is what it is as they have the summary and the storyline with the same text. Storyline text likely gets updated shortly after the episode airs.
Blech. I have pretty low expectations already but still… at least I got value outta my lifetime pass from several years ago. I’d be super pissed if I was still actively paying. I’m sure the friction of moving to a new platform will be lower than my annoyances with Plex eventually… it was fun to see you pop in again.
