BTW - moviefan’s utility worked for me. If your plex install is on Windows, I imagine it would be SUPER easy. I had to do some linux-windows-linux copying to do my import/export, but if you are comfortable with that type of operation, there is little that can’t be accomplished with it.
Another tip - if you are doing a migration with Library path changes, that will also affect the playlists. I simply exported, then used a text editor (PSPad) to globally replace the paths in the m3u files.
Overall, finding this tool in the forums was probably the hardest part of the operation.
Playlists have continued to disappear, one with hundreds of items now only has fifty. Seven have nothing in it. NO idea when this happened (i.e. which server version update killed them), but with sometimes hundreds of items in a playlist, recreating them is impossible.
Is there anywhere I can look to find playlists from a prior point in time?
How can I export a playlist so I at least know what was in it at one time?
Does anyone have information on this topic by chance?
Seems that I ran into the same issue, hundred of items from my playlist mysteriously disappeared. It would be nice to reload a previously saved list. Exporting or saving the lists as a backup would be a great idea since these are time killers to make.
I’m amazed that the option to back up playlists not exist in any Plex settings (unless I completely missing it).
