Where is the genre information loaded from?

Hello,
I use the “Plex Movie Agent” for films.
And the language is “German”.

Where is the genre information loaded from?
Is this information loaded and displayed from “The Movie Database”? Or from another source?
Because I have more genres loaded than are displayed online in “The Movie Database”.
I would also like to have only the genres from “The Movie Database”
Is that possible? Or can it be implemented via an update?

God knows why but plex consolidates the genre metadata from many sources (imdb, tmdb, tvdb and probably some other places) making it in essence useless. I’ve movies in my collection with 10+ genres assigned.

Just look at https://watch.plex.tv/movie/mulan as one example, its 11 :slight_smile:
