I’m sorry, I don’t know what this means. What is a PMS server? Is that a device I have to configure?
My goal is to be able to watch through Plex when I am out of town.
I have Plex on my PC and the page opened in the Chrome browser. I am signed in to the account. I pressed the tools icon in the top right.
Now there is a list on the left of the screen.
It starts with Dashboard.
The second section says Settings.
The second item says Remote Access and there is a green checkmark next to it.
When I try to use Plex when I am away from home (on a cellular device), it says Plex is offline. When I try to use Plex at home on a tablet on the same network as Plex, it works fine.
How can I get it set up so I can use it away from home?
Does this company have a help team? I could not find a way to contact them except this.
Thanks, ok. I restarted the phone, turned off wifi, using cellular connection only, and it magically connected correctly to Plex and is showing what I expected to see.
I also tried it with a tablet using the phone’s cellular connection, and it worked.
You can only imagine how “PMS server” looks at first glance to someone who doesn’t know Plex insider slang ;). I admit, some very rude words came to mind :).
Thank so much, now I’m set for my trip. If this works right while we’re away, I will feel it was worth the money to get the lifetime subscription. I appreciate the very quick response.
