Chapter thumbnails provide images in the chapter view on supported apps.
But which supported apps and how do you open the chapter view ? We typically use plex on a shield. I have Generate chapter thumbnails enabled so they should exist.

I agree we should list out the supported apps which I will request get done. Seems like there is a bug in the Android TV app if you are not seeing.
Ah, OK thanks. I’ll check later. Was looking earlier at a TV show and when I done that I only got the up next episode list and not a chapter list. Maybe chapters only appear on movies?
Chapters also work in TV shows.
As long as the files have embedded chapter markers.
(There are no chapters for TV shows in the old chaptersdb, so they cannot be added automatically.
Ah, that’s could be why. I don’t have embedded chapter markers. Thought plex created them on the fly which I guess is my confusion.

Plex can do that only with movies, because they have a copy of the now defunct ChaptersDB website.
