Go to Custom,

  1. Make sure all the Administrative is checked
  2. Same for Read
  3. And again for Write
  4. SAVE that one
  5. The permission should now show as “Full Control”.
  6. Next is to “Apply to this folder, sub-folders and files”, the “Full Control” permission we just gave it.
  7. Hit save again.

This is where it will take some time.

Chuck, it seems to have worked. I can’t thank you enough. I’m in Plex and now I can just customize things. Did you say I can delete the old Plex folder now, or do I need it for any reason?

Sorry for delay (Amazon arrived- haha)

When you’re happy that everything has transferred over,

  1. You can use the “Plex” shared folder for anything you want – or delete. Your choice.
  2. Please never put anything in the “PlexMediaServer” shared folder
    – DSM 7 is much more fragile than DSM 6 ever was. The installer can’t automatically fix things.
