Who In order to access my server do I need to constantly install the latest updates?

Is there any way around this?

I don’t understand your question. was the “who” supposed to be a “why”?

updates of what?

[edit] I mean which of our many apps are you referring

Yes, I’m not sure “why” it came out “who” but yeah…

Updates of the latest software release for Plex Media Server.

If you don’t want to update then don’t. I am unclear which you are saying is forcing you to. an update notification can be dismissed

If you were running a very old version of server then yeah some apps will require newer version or server to connect adn work with new features but that will generally be listed in app release notes or support articles on that app/feature.

I usually try to access my server about once every two weeks, or about as often as there are software updates. Every time I try to access my server, (about once every two weeks), I get a message saying that my server is currently unavailable. So I click on the help link. The first thing the link throws out is “Have you updated to the latest software?” Another suggestion is to log out of PLEX and then log back in. Sometimes logging out and back in works but when it doesn’t, the only other option I see is to check if I have the latest software update. Since there is an update it seems every few weeks, I download the update and install it. The whole process of dl and reinstalling always takes about 15 minutes. After doing this about 10 times now I’m just really looking to figure out why I’m wasting my time and is there a simple solution that I’m missing is all. I don’t want to waste my time and keep updating, but from what I can tell it’s the only way I can access my server to watch or listen to what I want…

There are more than one reason it might not. If you are updated I would not worry about updating again. It vaguely sounds like a network issue based on what you described
