Why am I paying a monthly subscription for this crap service?

I’m so sick and tired of getting the dreaded ‘Remote Access Not Available Outside Your Network’. And this crap always happens after a firmware update. This is why I’m so skeptical of updating. I’ve tried rebooting everything, uninstalling and re-installing. We shouldn’t have to go through this so often. What’s going on over there at Plex??

I do see you posting about this issue about every six months. Has it never worked for you since Sept 2017? Or does it eventually start working?

It eventually starts working. I couldn’t tell you how though.

That sounds like a router configuration issue then.

I saw your post ages ago in a thread about the Verizon FiOS Quantum Gateway router (FiOS-G1100). Is that the router you have?

I have the AT&T Fiber modem/router BGW210.

That’s an Arris router by the way; here’s a thread that might relate / help.

I am having the same issues and have tried all of the items shown in the provided document. I ran in my network setup for over a year before the remote access issues started and they started immediately following a software update.

I’m open to any ideas but just providing me a list of port forwarding instructions isn’t going to do me any good. I have been monitoring multiple ports on my server and the only one going down is the Plex port while all of the others stay open and reachable.

Any ideas?

Same arris router?

Arris Router but different model number: NVG468MQ

I’ve reviewed about 5 different guides to proper setup of port forwarding, all have very similar steps and don’t really have any conflicting information.

Vazquezhome, you shoudl check your home wifi before blaming Plex as this is almost certainly a home networking problem… ATT fiber modems needs special configuration with your router. I have this setup and it works fine once you get it configured. Might want to keep your powder dry until you know what’s up.

Thank you so much. So far it’s green but it was on and off yesterday. Crossing my fingers it remains green.

Plexcapacitor, how do you have your ATT Fiber modem setup? I lost remote access again. I don’t understand because it was running just fine for several months now. But everytime I install a firmware update I have all kinds of issues. This is why I try to avoid most firmware updates.
