Okay I know i’m 51 and not up with all this stuff but I only wanted to see what Plex could do.
Okay, the task, get Amazon Alexa to talk to my Western Digital PR2100 NAS, running the Plex Server.
I have installed the Plex app on the NAS, I have updated the app to the latest version. I have added the Plex Skill to Alexa.
What I can’t do is get Plex to load my music files into a library, pretty basic stuff.
Okay so I launch the Plex Web app on the NAS, I login, I try to create a Music Library, I point it to the music folder on the NAS, it scans and nothing is displayed in the Library window except “There are no items in this library”, using the drop down to cahnge from artist to Folders, shows the NAS Music folder structure.
The struckure is;
Public Folder\Public Music\Artist Name\Album Name\track name.mp3
I have looked at Plex support and found suggestions that the basic library should be named; Artist Name - Album Name\track.mp3 I created a test folder on the NAS like this, still no files found but I can see the folders.
I then found Plex support info that the basic (I am not paying for premium if this don’t even work!) library only supports m4a format, so I get some f those files, in a test folder, and still nothing.
So i am doing something really stupidly wrong, but I have no idea what it is, I have tried the support guides and pages but nothing seems to work.
HELP please!!! because I definitely need it
