Why are my non-paying Plex Home members suddenly not seeing my server & being told to buy Plex Pass?

Why is it that suddenly members (non-managed) of my Plex Home are being shown a demanding screen to buy Plex Pass and not able to access my server over the web interface?! If this is not a horrible error on the side of your system, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, especially the lack of communication! What is the deal here and when will these user accounts for members of my family get access back? You’ve got a very long time user (over 6 years) and yearly Plex Pass subscriber since the beginning of Plex Pass livid at this issue if it not a horrible mistake (can only hope it is).

I have never seen this… sounds like a localized issue to your setup.
Did you rebuild your “Home”?

Definitely not localized as this is happening to multiple independent accounts and on the Plex.tv site not my own hosted.

Typically the android app has that screen when initially installing it but you can skip through it and log in. Are they using their own account or your plex plass email ? The windows 10 app my brother had to buy from the app store.

Please note as mentioned this is not happening on an app but on the Plex.tv web interface from a desktop browser.

Doing a quick test (as what you described seemed so unlikely and if it were the forums would be going crazy anyway), there is a modal that pops up saying would you like to subscribe to Plex Pass but there is a white X top right to close it. After that everything works as normal.

If it’s not that do you have a screenshot of what’s happening?

What yesternow said!

Exactly, and when that window is closed the server is not visible, even if I just switched users from my primary admin account and had access.

There must be something up with the users section then. Normally you only get that modal on a first login.

check your server settings to make sure that the users have access to the libraries and etc.
