Why are plex pushing updates each week

each week since the 8th of Sept Plex has sent an update

PlexMediaServer-1.32.6.7468-07e0d4a7e-WDMyCloudEX4100_OS5
PlexMediaServer-1.32.7.7484-337c79318-WDMyCloudEX4100_OS5
PlexMediaServer-1.32.6.7521-24e4dff81-WDMyCloudEX4100_OS5
PlexMediaServer-1.32.6.7557-1cf77d501-WDMyCloudEX4100_OS5

why couldn’t they just combine them into 1 months update as I go to watch a show or a movie on my server and it says can not connect to your server
and it is really frustrating if i am not at home and I was planning on watching something and I get home and find out that Plex has released another update and then I have to download it and installed it and then my system is back up and running for another week until Plex pushes out another minor update and causes the server to have an error loading content .

can you please not force the updates to stop the system working or just do the updates on the same day every month

thanks

If you don’t want to get the beta updates you can disable that by changing Settings > [Server Name] > General > Server update Channel to Public.

You have Autoupdate or Ask Me as update options in Settings.

Edit - an update came through for my PMS today and I have Ask Me selected in Settings. PMS didn’t update (as expected), didn’t shut down, not had an error loading content.

Sometimes updates are time critical, especially for some users. First time I’ve heard a user wanting rolled up updates to monthly.

Normally public releases are about a month and about every two weeks or so for beta releases. If you look at the release notes 1.32.6 and 1.32.7 were both pulled about a week or so ago due to an issue.

These have been re-released after being fixed with new build numbers which is why they came out so soon after the previous

As mentioned above you can set Server version updates to Ask me and it won’t try to install on it’s own during maintenance.
