Interesting, I have never found a Browser search engine or forum search or the massive Library of support articles return no clues to resolve a problem with PLEX
Interesting. You can help me and a fella out on our mysterious non Plex problem with a TIP or lead us to a support article about this topic then. It can’t possibly be a Plex issue but rather something with Roku. Any insight? And btw I READ the app updates and this issue, I mean perfect feature of Plex, wasn’t indicated on any bullet points. Care to share your wisdom?
Don’t own a Roku and unfortunately PLEX found it necessary to Ban for life JuiceWSA, who would have been very helpful. Have you visited the Roku forums or the AV forums. I hope being constructive going forward is more in line with your expectations.
It would also be a great help if you didn’t hide your profile so i could check your activity on these subjects.
Shame that Juice got canned but hey Plex and the mods have their reasons. Being constructive isn’t what I expected knowing full well what kind of atmosphere we have on the forums from time to time but it was needed to help the guy out with his original issue and I have absolutely no problem taking a step back if one of the Ninjas come in with better analysis of the situation and in the process have learned I may have goofed or found a way to enhance my setup. It can be a WIN. Plex users are always learning and it can take a f’n mental toll when the clients break or something with the server causes unexpected cpu hogging during the holidays or even worse, a crashed server. I have had some heated moments with a few mods or even Elan for that matter but it’s why I step away and come back, usually months later to see if any of my own issues have been resolved. If not, then I try to engage again. I’m a Plex user who just hopes things work when they’re suppose to work, based on what Plex informs us on and I take whatever the marketing team sells with a grain of salt. Both Otto and Tom chimed in and I allowed them to give their feedback and support while also pointing out that how the Support Article of local network access was not informative enough in that there’s no indication that full access to libraries of that account will be exposed and accessible once activated, even though the technical verbiage was clear as day. At the end of the day, the guy learned what was allowing this to occur and I was about to walk away happy that it worked out for him. You indicated that there was no problem with what was already there. I would have agreed and also said there’s no need for a change because the support page is factual in terms of basic networking configuration but the end result on the Plex clients are not indicated, ya know, for the those who don’t read but only look at images. Whether Plex updates the support page or not, that’s totally their choice but its why I keep my own support pages in Google Docs with visual aids. You have 1k worth of hearts compared to my 61 so you must be doing something for the community. I really don’t expect anyone to fix the issue with Roku, but all we want like many on the forum is acknowledgement that our issues are bugs or preparation for new but hidden features. That’s all (most of the time).
Keep it up and Bigwheel will send you on your way, they don’t like being questioned. I can’t believe the void BW has left in the forum debate. We are all the poorer off due to BW sensitivity, I find the forums have lost a valued asset on the side of consumers. PLEX one, consumers minus one. Feedback even if at times personal it is still feedback, but put your back to feedback will be your downfall.
I don’t contribute much anymore due to BW and his attitude to criticism, the forum are now forested a lot more one way. Sad days.
