Why can’t I see my Media files in the left hand side bar anymore?
Your question is not as clear/obvious as it might seem to you.
Would you mind sharing what you see vs. what you expect to see?

I used to see the attached folder here Tom
When I click “Your Media” it now asks me to install Media Server… even though I have and it’s running
Do you see the same behavior if you connect to your server using its local IP address?
It looks like you might have signed the server out and it’s no longer linked to your Plex account (or you’ve been using different Plex accounts).
Interesting… I don’t recall ever changing my details Tom, and only ever had one account. This seemed to happen recently when I changed over to a new laptop. But I’m sure I had this working!
Where do I find the IP address for the server
If you’re on the same machine, use http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
If your server is on a different device you might need to check your router for the IP address assigned to that device.
Got you… Yep still the same issue
Does this mean that you did leave the Plex server installed on the old machine, but never moved its data to the new laptop?
No I moved it all over
Check the Plex icon in your task tray.
Is it still there?
If so, does it vanish if you move your mouse pointer over it?
If not, try Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support
Disable any VPN or internet filter software or browser add-ins while doing the procedure.
