Trying to get all my American Experience documentaries on my Plex server. However, I have run into a frustrating problem. Plex (or the data bases it uses) keeps getting a lot of the episodes data mixed up and incorrectly applied. Just one example:
Episode name according to IMDB and PBS: American Experience - s08e08 - The Wright Stuff.mkv
Plex names it: Spy In The Sky
It even uses the Spy in the Sky poster.
The two episodes, “The Wright Stuff” and “Spy in the Sky” are in season 8 of American Experience. They’re even right next to each other in the order. (Spy in the Sky is actually episode 9.) But, as I say, wrong data.
And, this is just one incident. This occurs also with several other episodes, and I only have about 15 videos.
Another example:
Episode name according to IMDB and PBS: American Experience - s5e11- Seabiscuit
Plex names it: Bataan Rescue
I understand I can correct this in the details of each episode, but as I’ve had to move files from time to time, when Plex scans everything again, they come up with the wrong names again. I would prefer not to have to keep “fixing” the data.
Has anyone had experience with setting up the databases which name TV episodes? Is there one that works better than another? And, if so, how do you change them?
