I have to go into the plex settings all the time to reestablish my remote access to be enabled, after an hour or two it automatically switches to disabled. Anyone else having this issue. I am using a MAC if that makes a difference or not.
Your router is closing the automatically established port forwarding after a while.
Nothing you can do except using a manually created portforwarding.

Second @OttoKerner’s diagnosis. Manually forwarding the ports is the only sure fire way to get remote access to work 100% of the time.
Most consumer grade routers close the uPnP connections to clear up memory. Very few of them allow you to configure this closure. The only way to always have remote access is to manually forward the port(s) and those don’t get closed.
