Why does Plex think I've added/changed music that hasn't been added/changed

Hi All,

Maybe someone can help enlighten me on why this happens…

I am on the latest version of the Beta Plex Server for Mac (Version 1.15.6.1079 right now), I’ve always used the Beta’s, and I’ve seen this issue for several years…

I use a Synology NAS to store all of my media.

I like to sort my music by Albums/Date Added. After adding an album or two to my collection, the Plex scan finds and adds them to Plex just fine. The problem is, that Plex finds a lot of music that it thinks has been added or changed that HASN’T been added or changed too. So my list will have an album that has been in my collection for years saying “4 hours ago” or something…

It COULD be that my NAS is somehow updating the files and therefore Plex thinks they’ve changed? But I don’t see any reason for my Synology to do that…

Any ideas why that’s happening? I’ve wondered about this for several years, and my searching hasn’t yielded any results.

Thanks all!

Settings - Server - Library - ‘Empty trash automatically after every scan’
must be OFF, if your media storage is not inside your Plex Server device

Hm. Ok, will try that! Thanks!
