Why doesn’t Plex work on Apple TV without internet?

This is really starting to get super annoying. Why does Plex stop working on Apple TV when the internet goes down? It’s a local server running on a local network. My router is fine. But Plex just stops working. How do I fix this? I invested a lot of time and money into Plex so that I’d have a server that would work over my local network with or without internet. For years it worked fine. Now in the last couple of years it is just completely broken when the internet is out. What’s the solution?

I guess people just don’t get help or responses here anymore. I’ve made several posts about different issues in the last few months. Not one single response.

Plex is dead. I’ll find an alternative.

Add the IP address of the apple tv to your servers “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” in the network settings page

Does your apple tv have a static IP?
