Why don’t you go?

Why don’t you go? I remotely get this error and I don’t understand what I need to change on Plex? Can you give me a hand? Thank you

Exceeded the bandwidth limit

I’m not sure I understand your question/post correct…
You’re trying to start playing a video from a remote server and get a warning that it cannot play because it’ll exceed the bandwidth limit?

Usually this means the server’s remote access configuration has set a bandwidth limit for individual streams:
Settings > [Server Name] > Remote Access > Limit remote stream bitrate

From what I remember you can also get that error if the video you want to stream exceeds the server’s internet upload bandwidth (e.g. if your internet access has an upload bandwidth of 10 Mbps and you want to stream a 20 Mbps file).

Options:

  • You can adjust the server’s remote stream bitrate limit to accommodate the stream’s bitrate
  • You can adjust the video internet/remote playback quality on the client to match the limit applied by the server / your internet upload (on the Apple TV: Settings > Video Quality > Internet Streaming)
