I tried the app & all different kind of browsers. But it is either showing an error message or a blank page. It is just impossible to delete my account. You have obviously disabled it, because everyting else works fine. You are not allowed to keep my personal information against my will according to GDPR!
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account
Right at the bottom is delete account.
I actually just read that you may be required to change the password before it lets you delete the account.
When you click that link you go to a page to reset your password.
Can you give the correct link to delete my account?
See my edit above.
Now it works, Thanks.
The problem is not to find the button. The problem is that the button doesnt work. It just gives you an error message or a blank page. I already reset my password before trying to delete my account, so that is also not the problem. It is just a dummy button. In the app and also with different webbrowsers and on different pc’s. It is just completely impossible to delete my account!
I never thought Plex was a bad company, but now I start to think that they are very shady, because they dont allow users to delete their accounts!
What’s more likely? Not a single Plex user was ever able to delete their account. Or you specifically have some messed-up configuration on your machine that is causing to not be able to delete your account? I’d say the latter which kinda negates your claim that they don’t allow users to delete their accounts false.
Have you never heard the saying “Never attribute to malice that which can easily be explained by incompetence”?
All users accounts who were affected by the breach are required to change their passwords, before they can perform other high-risk account actions like deleting the account or performing the email address verification.
