Why GUI changes hurt the community

Plex… If you’re listening out there, I don’t often join in with these complaints, but… Please read your audience.

We use your service to escape the streaming sites that look like your new broken Roku GUI. We use your service because it doesn’t push out unwanted GUI updates that replace what wasn’t broken.

To us, these GUI changes are not just a bad and unwanted update. It is a breach in trust. Updates like this can kill off your fanbase, seriously.

I like your service. I pay for your service. But I, like many others, use your service for self-hosting. And I, like many others, am seriously considering replacing you after this unwanted change to a well-established system. Once we set up the system, we just want it to work, and we want it to be consistent. That’s it.

Please revert back and stop messing with the GUI. It was perfectly fine and functional the way it was. Please do not drive us away… We are the foundation to your fanbase. We want to like you. But if you don’t reverse this, and you end up doing this to Plex Web… I’m pretty confident you’ll have a mass walkout and far fewer subscribers.
