My experience using Plex on my iPad just now was a complete and total disaster. My home page is filled with nonsense that do not want. I cannot determine how to locate my libraries. There is no music (or audiobooks) anywhere to be found. The Plexamp app in completely non-intuitive.
Can I still use plex to listen to my music through the TV?
Plex has been great. Now it is a total cumbersome mess. Why did you do this? What were you people thinking?
How am I supposed to figure out how to use this new interface? Where are the tutorials?
Why didn’t you create a new app for these new ideas? You could have left the existing app alone.
I have invested an enormous amount of time setting up my libraries in Plex to be exactly like I want them. It seems you have destroyed all that.
I am so frustrated with this. That you did this without notifying us, or making it easy to transition to this new system, or giving users the option NOT to use this new interface is beyond me . . . and I suspect many users agree with me.
How do I get back to a Plex that I understand and which I can use?
It’s corporate greed at the most incompetent of levels. They ignored all user feedback during the beta and continue to gaslight us on the forums, painting the users as skill-challenged and tasteless. If it were a public company the stock would be tanking. It is obvious they do not want to build for the users anymore and it is very sad to see.
I am not a fan of the new app. It seems it is going the way of many, many other apps with goofy, large buttons, stripping functionality in place of visual appeal.
Hopefully, you’ve fixed the downloads issue because I have no idea. There is no option to force play of downloads, why remove this? Additionally, when I set TV series to download I have to select an entire season, and not just the episodes I haven’t seen yet? Again, WHY?
Don’t get me started on the library mess…luckily for me I only care about 2 libraries on the Plex app on my phone and tablet.
Ugh…complete turd monster of an app. Unfortunately, I have to eat it.
I would agree they tried to make it so that it’s competing with every other app out there. That’s the reason we used plex, so we didn’t have to have everybody else’s app.On here we have one app that function perfectly for everything
I would say the worst part of all has been the official response. We just get told that our taste or preference for how we use the product is incorrect.
Adding my voice to the many others here. Updated the Plex app on my iPad yesterday and it’s a complete disaster. One app is now three (adding the PlexAmp for music and the PlexPhoto) - so much for making the user experience better. And the new interface is absolutely horrid - is no-one there experienced in mobile device UI/UX? I get that y’all want to be the “new Netflix” or whatever - but I’d wager that the vast majority of your subscriber base are relying on Plex as a network streaming platform. For the first time in the MANY years that I’ve been a loyal Plex customer and advocate, I am now inclined to check out alternatives. Please, rewind this disaster before we all bail out.
It comes from the top. They want it done their way and if you do not sing praise to the Dear Leaders then you are told that you are the one with the problem. It’s a disgrace.
