I had a power outage this weekend and my database stopped updating. I had to reload Plex Server version 1.13.9.5439. This fixed everything except I noticed today I am getting this same Offline error on all of my libraries on the Home screen of all of my iPhone and iPads. Not sure what else to try. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Not sure if you have any suggestions but I have tried just about everything. I even restored a backup and loaded Plex version 1.38.5395. Everything works on all other devices and DVR recording work. But the iPhone and the iPad app Movies and TV shows on the home screen show offline. If I go into them on the bottom ribbon some of the libraries will load. It has been working perfect for years.
I have this same problem with my iOS devices. Has been going on for a long time. Have a Plex lifetime pass and gigantic library - canât believe this issue has gone totally ignored for months!
Ditto, I have exactly the same problem - only one of my Libraries, Shows, is not working and only in iOS. Web, Nvidia Shield, LG TV app, all are fine. Movies is fine, even my other library which is also TV Shows âFreeviewâ (which is recorded from my DVB tuner) is fine.
I am an experienced software engineer so Plex guys me some instructions I am happy to help debug this.
If it is any use, I know it broke yesterday on all my iOS devices at the same time, I use them everyday and it happened yesterday (29th Oct). What is probably the most interesting thing is that it was BEFORE I updated to the new app (5.6) - I went into Apps to update after I noticed it wasnât working.
It was also before I made any recent server changes, I logged in and rebooted my server in an effort to help, but it didnât change anything.
Final note, my server is in a docker container but this hasnât been an issue since I started using docker 2+ years ago.
Ahh, fixed it by deleting all my DVR recordings, I was mistaken - I have a really old library called âFreeviewâ which is where my DVR recordings used to go, now they go to my âShowsâ Library⊠the library which was âofflineâ
I deleted all recording schedules and it didnât work - but deleting everything that was recorded did.
I probably started recording some new seriesâ 2-3 days ago. My guess is one of those recordings messed it up, because it was working 2 days ago but not yesterday.
I guess I have lost any useful debug info now however let me know if I can provide anything.
What lead me down that path was when I hit âretryâ on the âhuston we have a problem pageâ I was monitoring the server logs and saw this:

Those 3 shows were all DVB recordings, but none of my other shows were listed in the outputâŠso this made me think DVR recordings have something to do with this. - it looks like in previous comments the Plex team are already aware of this thoughâŠ
This is very disheartening. Stumbled across this thread searching for solution and thought from the age of it that would get to most recent posts and voila! Unfortunately doesnât appear the problem is fixed.
I, like many others purchased lifetime pass, have paid for apps for myself and family/friends, ⊠Unless Iâve missed something there doesnât even appear to be a workaround. Have I missed something?
Update: They fixed my issue iOS 12 - Plex + OpenVPN - 'Offline' message in Plex iOS. Not offline hopefully this fixes it for some of you

seriously, this is annoying
Having the same issue ! server is ok and i can watch from there.
I am seeing on my app on Android S7 that my recently added movies is offline. I am still able to watch what was already there, but itâs like my sync is off of my My Cloud. How do I resolve?
Same issue, i upgraded to the new iphone xs max and i can not connect to my plex server anymore on my mobile devices
Same issue, not that they seem to care to fix it. Devs you have broken your Android and iOS applications with the redesign. Itâs shameful to charge for them when they seem to be non-functional.
I should also point out these posts are not representative at all of the scale of this issue. Iâd assume most came here from a Google search assuming this was solved after 6 months like me.

Happening here with two IOS devices on IOS12 and latest PMS.
Long time Plex user here and with every update it pushes me away. All I want is to stream my local content, no offline, no live shows⊠I donât even like that I must be logged into my account to use it on devices on my local network (have to whitelist my TV IP as dated apps donât have a login menu).
How Easy is the switch to emby with a large collection? First time looking at it.

Same issue here. My server is online for all devices except iOS â after testing on 3 iPhones and 2 iPads, ALL servers (not just my own) are showing âofflineâ and all users/friends are showing as âunauthorized.â This is a major issue!
I had the same issue when I transferred my apps from my old ipad to new one. I figured it had something to do with 2 simultaneous ipad devices with the same name recognizing only the older one. So I changed the new ipadâs name then deleted the plex app and reinstalled it. After that I checked authorized devices in the web app and now shows the new ipadâs name, everything is working now.
This might not be the same issue with other folks.
Same thing here. Just started yesterday. Funny thing is that my TV Shows say Offline, but my Movies works fine. Home page is pretty much useless. Issue is on both iPhone and Android. I can still search for the TV Shows and watch them. So there doesnât appear to be an issue accessing the data. Just the home screen and TV Shows tab say itâs Offline.
I canât use Plex on iOS at all.
