Playback of Return of the King - h.264 with DTS-HDMA… I noted that my receiver showed PCM rather that DTS-HDMA.
Inspecting Playback info - Plex is saying: “Transcode Reason: Direct Play was attempted but failed, fallen back to Transcoding.”
My Shield is set to pass-through - any ideas?
Could be a number of things. Maybe if we knew more about the file specs.

Is your Shield plugged into the receiver, TV’s will block the DTS.
Yes, of course.
So was asked about the file specs… but no comments on the files specs.
I think it might be because it is a 6.1 DTS-ES. I’ll see if our QA or Android teams have one to test with.
Do you mind sharing the android logs.
FYI, My copies of Star Wars Episode 1 - 6 all have that same audio format and they all direct play. The video is 8-bit H.264, not 10-bit. Blu-ray rip using MakeMKV.
