why is the security just a 4 digit pin?

I feel like the security is kind of lacking between users, i want to give my daughter access to plex so she can watch all of her favorite movies whenever/whereever she is but she’s a smart cookie and could probably guess my simple 4 digit pin if i even install plex on her tablet i think at least the admin account should have something beefier than a simple pin if somehow i have missed something all this time please let me know what to do to up the security

If you don’t trust your daughter, create a separate Plex.tv account (which is free) and share only those things with her you want her to see.

Don’t make your PIN 1111 or the likes.

There are 10,000 possible combinations, sure anyone given enough time and desire will eventually find the PIN but it can also be changed periodically by the cough cough administrator.

Just don’t choose your birth date

@dravis01, This is the best advice. And another good thing about creating a separate account gives you the ability to block certain movie/shows or you can even disable the share(s) in times when she should not be watching stuff. e.g. school, etc…

Thank you very much! Just got her all setup with her own account, don’t know why that never occurred to me! Thank you!
