Why so many problems after obtaining a lifetime subscription

My Plex Media Server was going along just fine and I had to go and purchase the lifetime subscription. Since then I’ve had:
One library that suddenly “could not play” every video I selected ( I had to re-encode almost 400 videos).
One library that suddenly began showing each video as a thin, horizontal strip across the middle of the screen (I don’t know what to do about that one. re-encoding didn’t help).
One Library that will play each video for awhile, then buffer 2 or 3 times and finally “could not play” the video.
At this rate, Plex will soon be of no use to me.

That is not something that should have been affected by obtaining a Plex Pass. Your symptoms sound like your hard drive containing your media is dying. Or your PMS install is really messed up. I would first recommend uninstalling PMS, downloading a clean copy from our website, and reinstall.

If that doesn’t help, recreate 1 problem at a time and provide the log from the client you are using and from PMS.
