IMO Ratings should be aggregate. Different ratings sources are often wildly different, and different people tend to agree with different sources.
- Normalize all ratings on a scale from 0-1
- Ability to provide “weights” to a rating source.
- Ratings are averaged and displayed as an aggregate rating (with ability for user to choose their preferred rating scale and granularity).
- aggregate rating can be clicked to display the individual ratings from different sources that resulted in the aggregate
Not sure if it’s possible to write a plugin for this, and considering Plex is killing plugins not sure it’s worth it, but if it’s possible, writing an agent for this is easy and the math behind this is child’s play.
The current “critic rating” feature is mostly useless due to the wildly divergent ratings between sources. It makes any automation around ratings needlessly complex and is generally user unfriendly as is.
