Why will not Plex work on tv without internet

I’m trying to post this again, since it’s not possible to get hold of Plex support.

But why isn’t it possible to get the Plex app for android tv to work if there isn’t a big fat pipe to the internet, I only want local playback

Seriously Plex make this work

I have a Plex server in my cabin, but internet can be flaky and missing for long time.

So why isn’t it possible to connect the android tv Plex client to the local server when internet is out

Android app on phone works.
But I can’t use andoid tv app or cast from the working phone to the android app on the tv,

The tv client seems to require internet to start, why

This document should be of help to you → [HowTo] Use Plex with No Internet.

The network settings stuff is key along with making sure the clients can access when there is no outside internet connection.

Thanks for this, most of those settings was already in place because of my aging Samsung tv(10 years old)
But it’s only android tv that has the issue.
(A Philips tv and a new chromecast 4k with android tv on)
Phone and web works
Even the extremely old Samsung tv client works.

It’s only the android tv that doesn’t work.
If i open the phone app and try sharing to the app on tv , the tv doesn’t show up as a possible device to cast to

Okay, so not a plex not working without internet problem  That’s good.

The fact phone and web works well and only plex does not could indicate a client problem but will let someone more knowledgeable than I jump in on how to debug that.
