I have some movies in HEVC 1080p 10bit Color. However, for compatibility I also have them transcoded into H.264 1080p 8bit Color. My TV is capable of HEVC at the file’s bit-rate with 10bit color. Yet it automatically defaults to the second file. I have ensured that the HEVC version is above the H.264 file in the Play Version list. But unless I select it specifically, Play does not automatically pick the file that is both better in color and bit-rate (though i believe color is more important than br).
