Just moved from CA where I had AT&T port forwarding to OR. I have T-Moble here but it does not support PLEX Remote access. It looks like Xfinity may be available at my location. How much trouble is getting Xfinity to work with PLEX?
Yes, it will work with very little trouble. If you’re using your own equipment, you just have to forward a port on your router.
If you’re using Xfinity’s equipment, you have to disable xFi Advanced Security and forward a port.
Ok, I now have an Xfinity account and router. They use a Phone app (web gateway no longer working) to set up port forwarding but do not specifically have PLEX listed, (they have Grand Theft Auto, etc) but after forwarding the 32400 port to my Laptop running my PLEX Server, the Remote Access does not hold. Xfinity is no help, say they can’t help because they don’t understand PLEX and don’t do IT stuff!
Any suggestions from someone who has had similar issues with Xfinity service would be greatly appreciated.

i’d use my own equipment. but you can always just have upnp on and not manually forward any ports and it should work.
with comcast you just have to have a pretty high plan before your upload speed because some what reasonable. you may just be transcoding remote streams a lot if your upload speed is capped at 6mbs
Going to try that and see if that will keep my Remote Access from dropping out.
