I have the newest Xfinity xFi Router (All-in-one Modem/Router).
I have set the port forward to match that of my plex port (32400). (same port pub/priv)
IP matches, port matches.
My firewall is not blocking Plex.
My Xfinity advances security is turned off.
My Norton 360 is not blocking Plex.
My VPN does/did not interfere with Plex.
I cannot do a static IP, however I was able to reserve the IP associated to my plex server/PC so it doesn’t change.
It was working solid without the port forward for a while, broke; then solid briefly with the port forward, broke. Now I can’t keep remote access connected for more than 5 seconds.
I know I have a Dual-NAT situation, with multiple lovely IPs. The one my router tells me and the one http://whatismyip.host/ tells me.
I can’t find a solution, and I’ve tried everything.
I archive 100s of movies for my family, and have Plex pass practically going to waste.
Please help. I’ve literally tried everything I could research on this.
I’m experiencing the exact same issue with the same setup, I disabled all the same things and still cant get Plex to connect other than relay mode. Long time plex pass user.
Step 2: Disable Xfinity xFi Enhanced Security if enabled.
Step 3: Disable the VPN until you have remote access working without it (eliminates variables while troubleshooting).
You can also use canyouseeme.org to verify if remote access is working. Access site from the same network as your Plex server. Substitute your remote access port (ex: 32400) for the default port 80. Your Plex server must be running for the test to be successful.
Like I said, I’ve tried all that. And with Xfinity I see no way of eliminating the Double-NAT.
At least from what I’ve dug up on the internet. And Xfinity/Comcast has the worst support so they’re not worth the hassle.
