Will MediaMonkey tags show up in Plex?

For music, I can’t tell if Plex is reading the MP3 tags or if it’s looking up the music online.
For video, will the MediaMonkey tags show up at all?

I was planning to test this, but I have to fix some things on my computer first.

You can configure your libraries to prefer embedded metadata.
This will work for some file formats like mp4, m4v or mov – however not with mkv, avi or others.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you know why Plax can’t read MKV tags?

I don’t know. But I guess it might have to do with the crazy structures of mkv metadata/tagging and a lack of supporting libraries. For all I remember, the only app actually dealing with mkv tags is MKVToolNix and they simply mux XML input files into the container.
