Windows 10 App - A Server Error Occurred During Sync

I’ve used Plex for a few years, and have had an odd sync issue or two, but never something like this.

I recently rebuilt my computer, and reinstalled Plex fresh. At the same time, I got a new Surface. Though my other (Android) clients can sync to the Plex server just fine, the Windows 10 app will not sync due to “A Server Error Occurred During Sync”

The Plex server log looks normal, but I get an error on the client log (the only thing I have changed is replace my actual ip with “internalip” or “externalip”

Same issue here and called out in the regular forums, is this the error you get? :

Windows 10 sync seems to be broken after the last update.

Same with Sync for me, however I’m still on Window Phone 8.1.
When I try to edit a sync item that says that has an error related (only since about PMS version 1.9), saving the changes it says “Unable to save sync item - Expected X-Plex-Sync-Version:2”. The item is Music, if that’s any relevance.

same errors here, fresh install on Win 10, synched 2 tv episodes at original quality, one large 2GB+ one small 170MB
3rd file failed “Server error”, subsequently nothing will sync with the same “Unable to save sync item - Expected X-Plex-Sync-Version:2” error

well this sucks I just sat down to sync some movies for a family vacation… guess I’m manually copying them

Right so I figured out a workaround for syncing, I think. Once you allow syncing to the device by adding a single sync item. You can them use the plex web interface to sync to your device. I did notice however that the updated windows media player doesn’t like aac-lc… so I need to find a workaround for that as the profile doesn’t make a difference…

Plex just needs to fix this. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

I agree but what can you do if there seems to be no developer (likely because of some miscommunication due to the EOL of Windows Phone). Ideally they would open up the code for the UWP app so some of us could dive in and fix it ourselves. (I don’t feel like re-writing the whole thing from the ground up…)

Does Plex not support the Windows app anymore?
