Hello ive been working for the past week on trying to make a effective backup restore tool for my plex server. Actually i had it made for some time and worked fine untill i decided to add photos to my server. i would do the usual backup method. close plex properly, verfy no other plex related process are open. delete the entire contents of plex media server folder, restore just the 2 db files in the Plug-in Support\Databases folder. then run
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Scanner.exe” --scan --section 36 --log-file-suffix “xyz scan”
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Scanner.exe” --refresh --section 36 --log-file-suffix “xyz refresh”
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Scanner.exe” --analyze --section 36 --log-file-suffix " xyz Analysis"

So what happens is, when i add the photo library initially, the dates and thumbnails are fine. After i run the above commands i get most if not all my pictures dates shifted by some random amount of time. yup that’s right lol. yes i verified it wasnt the taken, modified, created, etc dates located in the file. but a date sometimes 6 to 18 months off. and remember the dates was correct right out the gates, when i created the library. Another thing is there will be black pictures that you cant click on in place of the pictures it shifted up 6 to 18 months( not exactly but close, like i said it was a random amount of time). all of this seemed like a 3rd party database issue, since in the logs its constantly asking a 3rd party what to do with each picture. yes im a plex subscriber and no i dont have any of those features turned on, just wanted it to put them in a timeline from the taken date. but now after it analyzes the folder it gives me 18 months of black pictures to scroll threw to get to my actual pictures which have some crazy date on them. Sorry about the venting, but i really hope someone can help or test this real quick on there machine. ive reimaged my pc dozens of times, reinstalled etc and cleaned every hidden trace of plex, shutdown pc then reinstalled. running the current version, and also tried an older version. but i have heard of issues in general with photo timeline for years, but not this. Ive done way to much troubleshooting to detail here for now. if anyone can duplicate the exact same situation please let me know. And obviously if anyone resolved this in the past, i would be humbled to hear your response.
