See attached error. Upgrading to the latest version of Plex has broken my install. I’m not sure what I should even attempt at this point? Ideas? This is a 3 week old build of Windows 10. I’d prefer not to have to rebuild the PC & completely reinstall/rebuild my Plex library if at all possible…
Found the fix. The Plex installer was supposed to automatically download and install the Windows Media Foundation Pack. I saw it download, but walked away from the installer. Apparently that installer didn’t work properly. I had to manually download and install this file: “Microsoft-Windows-MediaFeaturePack-OOB-Package_x64.msu” found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231
Install & reboot resolved the issue.
You need to install the media feature pack - this is purposely removed from all N and KN versions of windows, you can grab it here

The weird thing is…the installer actually “downloaded” this file during the install. I actually saw it downloading it. The problem is just that it didn’t install it properly.
FYI the Windows 10 Anniversary Update broke this again, and the Media Feature Pack had to be reinstalled. There is a newer version that needs to be installed: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3133719
FYI, the Anniversary update took over an hour, even having the OS installed on a SSD drive! Good grief man!
