Windows 11 Media Player Can't Display Plex Library Music FIles (For Yamaha Musicast Use)

I am trying to resolve how to get my Yamaha Musicast “Server” feature on my receiver to see my music files on my Windows PC. For some reason, the only Library it sees is “Plex Media Server” on my PC and not my music files folder directly (which it should, but I cant seem to fix this). And while Yamaha can see “Plex media server” when I click on it, I dont see any music files. Similarly, in Windows Media Player which also shows “Plex Media Server” as a source, when I open it, I get an error “the remote media library did not allow the connection”.

I believe that if I can resolve this, and WMP can see the Plex library music files, then my Yamaha Server feature will also be able to display the music files.

Help to be able to see the Plex library in WMP would be greatly appreciated!!!

I’m not clear what WMP has to do with it but you need to enable DLNA on your Plex Server for it to show your server libraries directly in the Yamaha Music Cast app under the SERVER source. I imaging WMP would need DLNA as well.
