Hey there. So… now that Plex Media Center is no longer supported I am forced to use this garbage windows App. So slow and unresponsive it is mind blowing. A machine that had no issues, at all, running plex media center takes up to 3 minutes simply to SCROLL!
Does anyone know any way to fix this piece of garbage and what, exactly, are we supposed to use to replace Plex Media Center?

Have you tried Plex Media Player for Windows instead of the the Windows App?

I use a web browser. Edge is a bit flaky, but Chrome works like a charm - flies along, no sound issues, no bad reports at all.
For those stuck in 32-bit Windows, PMP is not available. HOWEVER, Kodi with the Plex addon works fine in 32-bit windows and is a viable option (just have to get used to Kodi with a touch interface - not intuitive to me for some reason).

Of course that is only available for Plex Pass holders. The Plex addon for Kodi is Plex Pass only BUT you can use PlexKodiConnect as that is for everyone and is better than anything Plex has produced. But, as a disclaimer, I only use Plex for movies and TV shows so it could not be a best solution for music or other audio.
Totally agree plex media centre is a steaming pile!
Its interface is poor and badly put together compared to PHT
Its buggy and slow
I am still using plex home theatre (have tried PMC several times and been disappointed every time) and it so much better minus a few little things that need to be fixed. Very sad that plex cant get this right.
Web browser is not the answer - some of us are using PCs with media centre remotes so web interface totally useless.
Might try open PHT - very sad that the community has to develop this instead of plex.
Plex really needs to fix this - sorry just not good enough.
As stated, PMP (Plex Media Player) is quite good.

They do have a lot to learn about what is really going to be visible on a TV from across the room, but the operation and reliability is very good. In fact, due to the current disaster in progress in the AFTV app, I’m using PMP quite often. That HDMI cable from the server to the TV is very handy thing to maintain these days.
It’s only quite good if you don’t use it on a TV - the Rasplex interface is much better adapted to the TV screen - getting it to start full screen is a challenge - getting it to STAY full screen is a challenge. The only reason I want something different than Rasplex is that it doesn’t handle all the audio signals well. A home theater shouldn’t need a keyboard in order to operate viably (totally destroys WAF).
